2012 Mercedes-Benz C300 and 2012 Mercedes-Benz C350

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C350 Luxury Sedan continues the evolution of a landmark vehicle designed to deliver the signature Mercedes-Benz blend of safety, agility and comfort in an incomparable compact luxury sedan. Well-defined muscle with meticulous detail, the 2012 C350 Sport Sedan combines aggressive sport styling and adrenaline-pumping performance with an amenity-rich cabin to give driving enthusiasts cause to celebrate.

Delivering 228 horsepower, the 3.0 liter 24-valve dual overhead cam (DOHC) V-6 in the C300 features variable intake and exhaust valve timing, with continually variable adjustment of all four cams for smooth idling, rich midrange torque, and high-rpm punch. An innovative intake system varies the path and flow rate of incoming air. These features make this engine incredibly flexible, allowing it to provide more than 85 percent of its 221 lb-ft of peak torque from as low as 1,500 rpm while still supplying an invigorating redline rush. Smooth response starts off the line, with the C300 whisking from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.1 seconds.

The Mercedes-Benz C350 industry's first 7-speed automatic transmission remains one of the most versatile automatics on the market. A wider range of closely spaced gear ratios delivers the ideal response for virtually every driving condition, which means smoother cruising, immediate acceleration, and thanks to two overdrive ratios, improved highway fuel efficiency, too. Its driver-adaptive programming monitors your driving style and adjusts its shift points to match.

Mercedes-Benz C300 brake Assist senses emergency braking via the speed at which the driver presses the brake pedal and immediately applies maximum available power boost. Brake Assist can potentially reduce the overall stopping distance by eliminating the delay caused by a common human tendency not to brake hard enough, soon enough. Letting up on the brake pedal releases Brake Assist. The Antilock Braking System (ABS), an industry landmark pioneered by Mercedes-Benz in 1978, senses impending wheel lockup under heavy braking and pumps the front brakes individually or the rear brakes together. This intelligent system can pump the brakes as needed up to 30 times per second, to prevent lockup and preserve the driver's steering ability.
